The Student Civil Defence Corps (Kor SISPA) of Universiti Putra Malaysia was established in 2015. As of 2019, it has commissioned 14 Young Officers and has 182 cadets currently enrolled in this co-curricular course.
Kor SISPA UPM is one of the uniformed bodies at Universiti Putra Malaysia, alongside PALAPES and SUKSIS Corps.
Previously, Kor SISPA UPM only used the platoon system to distinguish groups of cadets according to their intake sessions. Now, the company system has also been implemented to cultivate camaraderie and mutual understanding among cadets, even from different platoons.
The uniqueness of this uniformed body lies in its strong emphasis on volunteerism while incorporating modules prescribed by the Malaysian Civil Defence Force (APM). In addition, Kor SISPA UPM organizes the Mobility Programme as an annual activity, allowing cadets to gain new experiences and knowledge related to their course beyond Malaysia.
Participation in this uniformed body also provides cadets with opportunities to build a career with the Malaysian Civil Defence Force upon commissioning.
