KOLEJ CANSELOR –  The Technical Skills and Event Management Workshop was successfully held on Friday, May 8, 2026, from 8:00 PM to 10.30 PM at the Bilik Seminar Dusun, Kolej Canselor, Universiti Putra Malaysia. This program was an initiative fully organized by the Digitalization Secretariat, aimed at developing students who are knowledgeable, confident, and professional in the technical aspects and management of official events. The participants demonstrated high levels of commitment throughout the workshop to equip themselves with robust organizational management skills.

The execution of this workshop was further enhanced by the guidance of invited speakers consisting of professional staff from Kolej Canselor. The session commenced with Mr. Mohd Shahrul Aziwan Md. Isa, an Administrative Assistant at Strategy and Corporate Communications Centre (PSPK) takes on the role of Fellow Advisor for the Digitalization Secretariat at Kolej Canselor, who shared his expertise on basic audio system management. He provided practical guidance on sound equipment coordination and troubleshooting techniques to ensure seamless audio quality throughout an event. Subsequently, the session continued with Ms. Nazibah Kamaruddin, Assistant Chief Librarian of the Perpustakaan Sultan Abdul Samad, and Head of Fellows at Kolej Canselor, who delivered an in-depth presentation on efficient event management methods and systematic documentation techniques. Her session emphasized the importance of reporting accuracy and protocol in maintaining the quality and records of organized events.

Through an interactive approach, participants were exposed to a combination of theory and practical guidelines covering essential elements of audio-visual technicalities and event logistics management. Participants were given the opportunity to closely understand how stable audio systems and organized documentation serve as critical components for the success of a professional event. Direct guidance from the staff of Kolej Canselor provided participants with the advantage of learning the intricacies of event management according to the actual standards practiced at the college and university levels.

In conclusion, the Technical Skills & Event Management Workshop successfully achieved its established objectives. The program not only provided participants with initial exposure to the world of professional event management but also played a vital role in shaping technical skills, creativity, and professional conduct among students. The positive impact resulting from this workshop is expected to enhance the quality of future student-led programs. Therefore, it is recommended that workshops of this nature continue to be organized as a sustained effort to produce graduates who are competent, competitive, and prepared to meet the demands of an increasingly challenging industry.
