PROGRAM MOBILITI NIPPON VOYAGE: JEJAK GLOBAL ANAK CANSELOR

KOLEJ CANSELOR   The Nippon Voyage: Jejak Global Anak Canselor Mobility Program, organized by the Chancellors’ College Student Representative Council of Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), was successfully conducted from 1 to 13 December 2025 through both online and physical activities in Japan. The program involved ten students from Chancellors’ College, accompanied by two officers, Ms. Nazibah Binti Kamaruddin and Mr. Wan Zaharuddin Bin Wan Abdullah. The primary aim of the program was to provide international exposure through experiential learning, while nurturing globally minded, proactive, and creative students. In addition, the program sought to strengthen students’ leadership and management skills through active participation in planning and implementation, as well as to enhance academic and cultural collaboration between Universiti Putra Malaysia and its partner institution.

As an initial preparation, online sessions were conducted from 1 to 4 December 2025, featuring a cultural sharing session by Mr. Johari, a student from Tottori University, Japan. These sessions provided participants with essential knowledge of Japanese culture, customs, and social etiquette to better prepare them for cross-cultural engagement. The physical component of the program commenced on 5 December 2025 and took place at several key locations, including Ritsumeikan University, Kyoto, Osaka, and Kobe.

One of the main highlights of the program was an academic visit to Ritsumeikan University, which included a campus tour and a sharing session on Malaysian and Japanese cultures and traditional games. Participants also visited Kyoto University to gain insight into the academic environment and learning culture, followed by a cultural and historical exploration at the Arashiyama Bamboo Forest. In Kobe, participants had the opportunity to explore Islamic heritage and cultural diversity through a visit to the Kobe Central Mosque, as well as to experience the natural and cultural attractions at the Kobe Herb Garden. The program further featured visits to Osaka Castle and the Dotonbori district, providing valuable exposure to Japan’s historical development, national identity, and the integration of traditional and contemporary culture.

Overall, the Nippon Voyage: Jejak Global Anak Canselor Mobility Program successfully achieved its objectives by enhancing students’ understanding of international cultures and fostering unity among participants. The program contributed significantly to the development of competitive, knowledgeable, and globally competent students, while serving as an important platform to strengthen academic and cultural ties between Universiti Putra Malaysia and Ritsumeikan University towards mutual excellence.
