ALLAMANDA SCHOLAR AND CULTURAL EXCHANGE PROGRAM (ASCEP)

KOLEJ CANSELOR – From 17 to 19 October 2025, Kolej Canselor, Universiti Putra
Malaysia (UPM), welcomed students from Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) through
the organization of the Allamanda Scholars and Cultural Exchange Program (ASCEP). This
program is a continuation of the cultural and leadership exchange initiative between the two
institutions, made possible through the collaboration between the Cultural and Arts
Secretariat, Student Representative Council (MPK) of Kolej Canselor, UPM, and the
Allamanda College Representative Committee (JPKA), UNIMAS.

The visit by UNIMAS students to Kolej Canselor was a return exchange following the
successful “Serumpun Budaya: Menyusuri Warna Nusantara – Sarawak Series” program held
at UNIMAS from 12 to 14 December 2024. This time, Kolej Canselor hosted the event to

further strengthen the close ties established between the two colleges in their efforts to
enhance strategic collaboration based on culture, arts, and student leadership.

ASCEP aims to strengthen the partnership between the two universities through
cultural and intellectual exchange, as well as the sharing of student leadership experiences.
The program also serves as a platform for students from both institutions to explore each
other’s arts and cultural heritage while fostering shared values, unity, and national identity
among students of similar roots.

Throughout the three-day program, various activities were held, including knowledge
exchange sessions, art workshops, cultural performances, and interactive activities involving
students from UNIMAS and Kolej Canselor. These activities not only strengthened
relationships among the students but also provided opportunities to enhance their
communication, leadership, and teamwork skills in a more relaxed and culturally engaging
environment.

The organization of ASCEP also supports the HEPA Strategic Plan under Pillar D, which
focuses on enhancing graduate employability through the development of students’ soft
skills. Through active participation in this program, students not only gained valuable
experience in arts and culture but also nurtured openness, collaboration, and
professionalism essential qualities in today’s career landscape.

Kolej Canselor extends its deepest appreciation and gratitude to the Allamanda
College Representative Committee, UNIMAS, for their participation and commitment
throughout the program. It is hoped that the bond of friendship between the two
institutions will continue to grow stronger and serve as a lasting platform for upholding the
arts, culture, and student leadership values at the university level.
