SEOUL– From the 3rd to the 16th of May 2024, Sekretariat Kesenian dan Kebudayaan, Majlis Perwakilan Kolej Canselor session 2023/2024 successfully organised an outbound mobility program to the vibrant city of Seoul, South Korea. Twelve participants in all—ten students and two officers from Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM)—participated in the two-week Canselor Heritage Seoul-cial Exchange (CHEX) Programme. The focal point of the mobility program was to foster cultural exchange and mutual understanding between Malaysia and Korea. This was achieved through various activities and interactions, including visiting prestigious institutions like Korea University, Seoul, and attraction places showcasing Korean history and heritage. These engagements provided invaluable opportunities for participants to immerse themselves in the rich culture of Korea and forge meaningful connections between the two nations.

On 9th May, The International Student Festival (ISF) at Korea University's Minju Square showcased a diverse array of cultures, including a vibrant Malaysian exhibition organised by students from Chancellor College, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM). Decked in traditional attire and offering Malaysian delicacies like rendang and lemang, the Malaysian booth attracted visitors with its open house concept, fostering cultural exchange. UPM students also engaged visitors with batik canting activities, allowing them to create souvenirs reflecting Malaysian heritage. Among the festival's highlights was a spirited performance of the zapin dance by UPM students, adding a touch of Malay culture to the international event and leaving a lasting impression on attendees.

During their participation in the Canselor Heritage Seoul-cial Exchange (CHEX) Program, students from Chancellor College, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), immersed themselves in the rich cultural tapestry of Seoul. Exploring iconic landmarks such as the Seoul Central Mosque and Gyeongbokgung Palace, they delved into the heart of Korean history and tradition. From the bustling streets of Myeongdong to the serene surroundings of Namsan Park, they experienced the vibrant energy and natural beauty that define Seoul. Engaging in cultural activities and interactions with locals, they gained valuable insights into Korean customs and way of life. Through these experiences, they forged lasting connections and deepened their appreciation for the diverse cultural heritage of Seoul.
